Biography
The concept behind Glimpse is to write music dictated by instinct rather than influence. ‘To just write down a feeling’, hopefully, being as honest as possible. From an early age Chris Spero had an interest in Jazz, Blues and Techno, performing in several bands and releasing electronic music on various U.K. based labels under different aliases (Attic, Olek, and Spero). He then studied Sculpture at Central Saint Martin’s art college. After leaving Saint Martins in 2000 he started up Glimpse Recordings with Kompakt. Glimpse is one of a few U.K based labels to be distributed through the Cologne based Company. Over the years his records have been hugely supported by Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Jay Haze, Ritchie Hawtin, Magda, Jeff Mills, Troy Pierce, Konrad Black, Laurent Garnier, Adam Beyer amongst many, others. With tracks signed to Minus compilations and numerous other compilation cds. In August this year he released the ‘black collections’ album in Asia and had two sell out tours of Japan to promote the album in 2007 alone. Now that the % black series has drawn to a close. He has just embarked on a new series. The first being the long awaited ‘Masculine E.P.’
